Ad Astra USA is located 3 miles to the west of the NASA Johnson Space Center, and about 25 miles south of the city of Houston, TX. The building is a home to the AARC headquarters, Ad Astra’s VASIMR® test facilities (with the VX-200 thrusterin a 150 m3 vacuum chamber), machine shop, engineering department (developing the VF-200TM), as well as its research division.
The Ad Astra Rocket Company Costa Rica is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ad Astra Rocket Company. AARC CR was formed in 2005. The facility has been built approximately 10 km west of the city of Liberia, capital of the province of Guanacaste, on the campus of Earth University. On December 13, 2006, the Costa Rican team generated their first plasma.
