Renewable Energy

Hydrogen Usage

AASEA has joined efforts with Cummins, Inc. and EARTH University to jointly develop a new type of portable electric generator based on an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) fueled by a mixture of biogas and hydrogen. This technology has already been implemented as a research prototype developed by Cummins Power Generation, and it is currently undergoing testing at AASEA’s laboratory in Costa Rica. EARTH University will provide its experience in the sustainable production of biogas from organic waste, which combined with hydrogen gas allows for the production of fully renewable electricity on a more compact scale. This technology could later be scaled up to power conventional vehicles benefitting the trasnportation indusrty. Potential applications in mass transportation could provide an alternate path to reduce the dependency on fossil fuels and lower the emission of greenhouse gases.
