Position: Test Electrical Engineer III
Description: Ad Astra Rocket Company is testing its prototype 200 kW plasma rocket engine inside the company’s large vacuum chamber. The laboratory testing is trending toward FPGA control and away from LabView and National Instruments hardware. This includes development of custom FPGA, control interface and digital communication with high power RF generators and other subsystems. DSPs are also utilized in RF control. The data is archived to a Linux based server.
Essential Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering
• Experience with FPGA/VHDL/Verilog solutions for data acquisitions and control functions
• Schematic capture and circuit board layout software experience
• Excellent organizational skills, with software configuration control a strong plus
• DSP familiarity for RF signal processing is highly desired
• LabView programming skills highly desired
• Familiarity with RF or power electronics is desirable
• Experience with National Instruments data acquisition and control hardware a plus
• Spaceflight hardware experience a plus
• Familiarity with PLCs is a plus
Essential Responsibilities:
• Develop FPGA / VHDL solutions to DAQ and control functions
• Work with a senior engineer to develop DSP applications
• Design and build specialized laboratory test circuits
• Support the installation of high power electrical systems
• Assist in organizing existing Labview VI’s, ensure compatibility, and create new VI’s as needed
• Set up new NI hardware and communications with existing instruments and experimental hardware
Additional responsibilities:
• Strong computer/IT skills desirable
• Interface LabView with applications in C/C++ and other languages
Education: BSEE
Experience: Minimum 2 years of industrial or laboratory experience
Position: Executive Administrative Assistant
Description: Executive Administrative Assistant to support corporate executive team. Primary responsibilities for the position include:
1. Secretarial and administrative functions: Coordinate schedules, appointments, meetings and travel for the management team. Some of these may be of a highly confidential nature
2. Coordinating activities and facilitate communications with Ad Astra’s foreign and domestic subsidiaries and outside collaborators, including NASA, other space agencies, industry and universities
3. Interact with sponsors to schedule CEO’s public appearances both foreign and domestic and prepare detailed travel itineraries
4. Coordinate, manage and support special events for the company, such as technical and management workshops, marketing visits, investor relations and Board Meetings

• Handle all aspects of protocol with respect to congressional and VIP visits

Position: Facility Maintenance/Entry Level Machinist
Description:
Facility Maintenance/ Maintain facility Chiller system, Vacuum pumps, lighting and overall appearance of facility.
Entry Level Machinist/ Machine Shop Experience a plus but not required.
Experience: Minimum 1 year in facility maintenance
Education: High School Graduate/GED
